Optimalisasi Edukasi Kesehatan Gigi dan Mulut melalui Media Video Infografis Adaptif bagi Pasien Tunarungu Wicara: Sebuah Studi Intervensi

Abstract

People with speech impairments experience difficulties in language skills that affect their understanding of how to maintain dental and oral health. Improving the knowledge and skills of people with speech impairments is done through dental and oral health care interventions using infographic videos that contain information about dental and oral diseases, how to proper brushing techniques, healthy eating habits, and the timing of routine dental and oral health check-ups. This case report aims to describe the process of dental and oral health care intervention for individuals with speech impairments using infographic videos. Responsibility for dental and oral health and the cases involved calculus and dentin caries. This study is a case report on a client with speech impairments based on the stages of dental and oral health care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation.. The study was conducted at the Dental Health Clinic Department of Dental Health from October 2024 to April 2025. Showed a decrease in plaque scores from 38% to 0%, and the client experienced an increase in knowledge, skills, and behavioral changes in maintaining oral health. The video infographics, which included sign language, were effective in maintaining oral health for deaf clients.
